Ms.

Film
Study - Extra Credit Opportunities
|
|
Guidelines
|
- You may complete
up to five (5) extra credit movie reviews each semester,
one per deadline.
- You may earn up
to 20 points on each movie review.
- You may review
only one film from a given decade each
semester.
|
|
What You Must
Do
|
- Select a film
from the Room 118 library and watch it at
home.
- Write a 250-word
review of the film following the structure guidelines
below.
|
|
Structure Of
Your Review
|
- In the first
paragraph, introduce the film by providing its title, its
year of release, its director, and your overall opinion
of the film. Do this in two to three
sentences.
- In the second
(and probably the longest) paragraph, summarize and
evaluate the plot of the film, providing enough specific
information (names, places, etc.) to make the paragraph
interesting. Do not, however, give away any major events
or the film's ending.
- In the third
paragraph, evaluate the notable performances of the
actors. Be sure to use the actors' names and offer
specific observations.
- Conclude your
review by summarizing your main ideas, restating your
thesis, or commenting on the film.
|
|
Final
Drafts
|
- They must be
typed and double-spaced.
- Your heading
should include the title of the film and your
name.
- Italicize,
underline, or use quotation marks on the title of the
film (but not all three).
